Today, the GC welcomes a striking new addition to its already dramatic skyline: the highly anticipated Mondrian Gold Coast. Marking the brand’s Australian debut, this 24-floor hotel will be a landmark destination for Burleigh Heads. The southern end of the Gold Coast is already known for its relaxed sophistication, and this might just be the cherry on top.
Homegrown but International in style
Since first opening in Los Angeles in 1996, Mondrian has built a reputation for immersive, design-led stays in energetic destinations. The ‘essentially cool’ brand has outposts in Bordeaux, Cannes, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Miami, Seoul and more.

The Gold Coast outpost will be all this, but with a distinctly GC twist. Here, it’s all about Burleigh’s relaxed style and the hotel’s Fraser & Partners architecture, which is designed to blend into sun-kissed surroundings.
Rooms
Mondrian Gold Coast offers 208 room styles, including 132 studios, 76 suites, private two—and three-bedroom Beach Houses, and a penthouse. Many feature open-plan living, full kitchens, and panoramic views of the beach, Burleigh headland, or the hinterland. The two-storey Beach Houses come with private plunge pools and direct beach access and can be combined for larger groups or families.

The showstopper is the Sky House penthouse on the 24th floor, which has sweeping ocean views, three king bedrooms, a chef-ready kitchen, and a private bar—perfect for celebrating significant milestones in style. The bathrooms are stocked with the Santal 33 range by New York’s famed luxury fragrance brand Le Labo.

Two Distinct Flavours, One Address: Haven & LiTO
Mondrian Gold Coast brings two new venues to Burleigh’s already lively food scene. Under one stylish roof, Haven and LiTO invite diners to linger longer.
Haven: Coastal Dining, Elevated
On the third floor, Haven is where Burleigh’s relaxed lifestyle gets a little extra polish. Executive Chef Aaron Teece’s produce-driven menu lets the region’s bounty shine, from premium Queensland meats and seafood to seasonal local produce, all kissed by the woodfire grill. The space flows from the sunlit dining room to the lively pool club, private cabanas, and a sunset bar, all with sweeping ocean views. Haven is designed for slow, joyful dining, from grazing on share plates at lunch to sipping bubbles as the sun calls it a day.
LiTO: Italian Joy, Burleigh Soul
Just downstairs, LiTO channels Amalfi Coast summers as a laidback Gold Coast all-day diner. Head Chef Andrea Morigi’s menu is a celebration of Italian generosity: wood-fired breads, hand-rolled pasta, slow-cooked porchetta, and tableside tiramisu. Mornings begin with Allpress coffee and Italian-influenced breakfasts, while afternoons stretch into long lunches and relaxed dinners. The interiors—Mediterranean textures meet Aussie ease are designed to settle in, alfresco or inside, and enjoy a glass of something special from a seasonal wine list.
Both venues open on June 5, promising locals and travellers alike a new way to experience Burleigh’s laidback luxury—one plate, one glass, at a time. This is summer all year long.
Haven and Lito are designed to spill out onto sun-drenched terraces, blurring the lines between inside and out.
Wellness with a Burleigh Twist
Wellness is also front and centre. The dedicated CIEL Spa floor offers cutting-edge bio-wellness treatments, a 25-metre magnesium pool, and a 24-hour fitness centre—ideal for those who want to balance indulgence with self-care.
CIEL Spa links holistic healing remedies and science to deliver results that harmonise energy, enhance vitality, improve sleep quality and support cellular regeneration. Many therapies transcend the traditional spa experience, with a curated collection of touchless treatments.
At Mondrian Gold Coast, there is also the requisite 25-metre resort pool with accompanying magnesium plunge pools.
The latest in the Mondrian portfolio also features flexible event spaces, a sky-high ballroom, and a year-round program of music and cultural events. Set to become a new hub for locals and visitors alike, the hotel’s design and programming invite guests to experience the best of the Southern Gold Coast’s easy-going way of life.
To celebrate the opening, guests are invited to enjoy the Endless Summer offer, with rates starting from AUD $549 per night. The package includes a $100 resort credit, late checkout and a complimentary room upgrade (subject to availability), available for stays until 31 August. Full details here.
