Australia is in the midst of a hotel boom with many glam new properties opening this year and in 2018. 120 hotels in the next few years will see changing city skylines and a win-win for travellers. And it’s not just Sydney and Melbourne getting in on the action. The Calile Brisbane will give James Street that very Beverly Hills vibe. But first, Perth will welcome Australia’s first Aloft Hotel.
Marriott’s Aloft brand is aimed squarely at a new generation of traveller. The much sought after Millennial hospitality dollar is currently shaping hotels from all-important 24/7 digital connectivity to colourful hangout spaces.
Aloft has launched TiGi (Text it. Get it.) – the word’s first emoji-only room service menu at Aloft Manhattan Downtown. Text the corresponding emoji from the dedicated emoji room service menu and your room number and the hotel then confirms the order via text.
With 9-foot ceilings, ultra-comfortable platform beds, 43” LCD TV’s and walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, Aloft Perth seems to have the necessary luxury credentials down pat.
The 24/7 Re:fuel by Aloft pantry means any sudden craving is catered for, while Nook is the all-day dining venue with breakfast buffet and à la carte lunch and dinner menus.
In 2014, Aloft launched Botlr – a robot for both back and front of house duties and SPG Keyless entry to allow guests to skip check and head straight to their rooms. Some of the brand’s hotels are featuring Voice Activated Rooms – via an app you can change the temperature, switch the lights on and off and turn on the TV all via ‘Hey Siri’.
All of the brand’s properties pride themselves as being ‘Different by Design’ and Perth will incorporate some of the brand’s latest innovations. The Aloft Experience comprising an actual room reveal will showcase the stylings of the hotel’s 224 rooms during Perth’s Fringe World Festival. Performance artist Uta Uber Kool Ja will also be part of the experience with shows during the Festival in the room from January 20 to February 5.
Located in the urban renewal project the Springs and a short distance from the city’s vibrant Northbridge, Aloft Perth will be part of the all-new Perth. Scheduled to open on August 5, the new property is sure to turn heads. http://www.aloftperth.com/
