Here at TML we tell the stories of luxury – the people and the history behind the brands and services that best fit the four absolutes of true luxury: Heritage, Craftsmanship, Rarity and Integrity. Since 1874, Piaget has been a pioneer in the luxury arena. Creating not only some dazzling innovations in the tradition of mechanical watchmaking, but also the finest craftsmanship in fine jewelry. From humble beginnings, Georges Edouard Piaget quickly gained a reputation for his high-precision watch movements.

In 1960, Piaget introduced the Calibre 12P, the world’s thinnest self-winding movement and according to the influential Journal de Geneve ‘ a milestone event in watchmaking history’. This revolution has continued with the engineers and technicians in the Piaget workshops continually updating to create an even thinner yet better watch.

Today, the range includes ruby and turquoise in three different sizes in white, rose or yellow gold and with the option of gem set bezels.Recently, at the Piaget Time Gallery in Geneva, the company exhibited a collection of unique pieces, including a ‘Tradition’ watch previously owned by Elizabeth Taylor. Set with 36 diamonds, the timepiece has a yellow gold case and bracelet with an exquisite cracked opal dial.

The ‘Couture Precieuse’ collection epitomizes the Piaget tradition with delicate, seemingly embroidered golden lace embellished with diamonds. This and many fine examples of the much-celebrated Rose Collection have been seen on many red carpets in 2012. Although, now part of the Richemont conglomerate, Piaget still remains under the guidance of the Piaget family. Drawing inspiration from a strong historical legacy the company is constantly re-inventing if not the wheel, definitely the arts of watchmaking and fine jewelry.
