Escape to the City – Pier One Sydney Harbour

Perched on the harbour’s edge, Pier One is not only one of Sydney’s chicest waterfront hotels it also manages to maintain a resort feel in Australia’s busiest city.

The hotel is far enough away from the clamour of the CBD but close enough to walk to all the attractions, shopping and restaurants in the Rocks and nearby Circular Quay and Opera House precincts.

As a guest of Pier One Sydney Harbour, TML stayed this week in a Walsh Bay Suite – a magnificent white on white space with electric blinds should the view of the western harbour and glorious Sydney sunsets prove too mesmerizing.

These suites are opulent but not ostentatious; the comfort meter is amped up to 11 with a luxurious king size bed and large bathroom with marble double vanity and ultra indulgent spa bath. Attention to detail is best explained by the range of Appelles Apothecary and Lab amenities in the bathrooms. Appelles is the finest range of body, bath and hair care products TML has tried in any hotel around the world.

Last year, TML was lucky to stay in one of the absolute harbour front balcony suites. In case you missed reading about our magnificent experience, you can read all about it here: http://thismagnificentlife.com/its-all-about-the-viewsand-so-much-more/

Pier One Sydney Harbour (POSH) is currently mid-way in a seventeen-week beautification process to improve the lobby, bar and dining facilities. The hotel’s management led by new General Manager, Kim Mahaffy is doing a great job of minimising the impact on guests. The rooms and suites are still a serene escape from Sydney’s hustle and bustle.

The harbour-side property will also announce in the next few weeks the signing of a new Executive Chef to oversee new menus, the refurbished hotel’s restaurant and bar will offer. Watch this space.

Hotel reception has been relocated to the Bridge Room on level 2 – with guests entering the hotel via Lower Fort Street instead of Hickson Road.
