We’ve been telling you about Good Food Month and Night Noodle Markets since way back in 2014. Around the country, the Night Noodle Markets have remained an event not to be missed. Until August 4th, Brisbane hosts the ASEAN flavour fest at Southbank’s Cultural Forecourt. That’s twelve times you can take in those hunger-pang inducing aromas and delicious smoky tastes. You can wash it all down with a James Squire or Eumundi Brewery craft beer or Jacob’s Creek Signature Collection wines.
Vegans and Vegetarians aren’t forgotten with the tastiest morsels that will make the carnivores green with envy. Lip-smacking Bao, Noodles, Dumplings, Curries, Roti and Spring Rolls minus the protein with twice the yumminess.
Street food in our own backyard from 5pm weeknights and from 4pm on weekends. Here’s a quick rundown on why you’ll need more than one nibble on Good Food Month’s Night Noodle Markets.
Some of the tantalising tastes include Peking Duck Roti Rolls from @Roll Up and the steamed duck buns from Chu The Phat were so good I forgot to take a picture! Ditto that for the absolute winner of opening night – Inihaw na Manok – Chicken skewers in traditional soy glaze from Hoy Pinoy.
Start the night right with Foodie del Mar. They’ve made Paella lighter and healthier using brown rice with the delicious addition of Asian flavours.
Japanese style noodles your favourite? Teppanyaki Noodles have their own delectable take on this perennial taste sensation. If you haven’t tried Japanese pizza before, try something new – Okonomiyaking is doing it and it is so good!
Dessert to finish off the night on a sweet note? This Magnificent Life can’t go past Gelato Messina. 2019 is the year that will go down in culinary history with their Brazo De Messina. Think Pandan coconut gelato with condensed milk custard, sandwiched between shortbread crust & baked meringue.
And what’s the Night Noodle Markets without a great competition or two? The Thai Tourism Authority better known to Instagram fans as @hugthailand are offering a bumper Bangkok holiday for two. Fill in the survey at Thai Corner and take a selfie with Bangkok’s Chinatown.
Make a date, grab you significant other or get the kids in the car and get to this year’s Night Noodle Markets. Promise you won’t be disappointed.
