When the highly coveted France Michelin Guide star ratings were announced a few days ago, there was the customary jubilation and despair. 39 restaurants received their first star. Amongst the winners, It was the next-generation Palace, The Royal Monceau Raffles Paris that was the big winner with 1 star awarded to each of the much loved hotel’s restaurants: La Cuisine (French) and Il Carpaccio (Italian).
La Cuisine was complimented by the Michelin inspectors for exploring “a classic repertoire of French cooking with superb taste, produce and skill from the chefs. Each dish is a well-balanced blend of flavors, with a lightness of touch which lets guests rediscover the pleasures of Oeuf Mollet, Sole Meunière or Rum Baba.”
Il Carpaccio (the only Italian restaurant in Paris with a Michelin star) takes its inspiration from traditional family recipes. Dessert is never an afterthought at Le Royal Monceau, with both restaurants featuring pastries, chocolates and petits fours from France’s most acclaimed pâtissier Pierre Hermé.
Le Royal Monceau was originally opened in 1928 attracting the chic and the elite. After an extensive 2-year transformation by Phillippe Starck, the hotel now boasts an Art Concierge, an Art Bookstore, a private Art Gallery as well as a 99-seat cinema and the longest hotel swimming pool in Paris.
