Last year we may have been lost in the Woods but in 2018 the Noosa Food and Wine Festival Village will be where it’s all happening on Saturday 19 and Sunday, May 20.
Located at Noosa Lions Park the Festival Village is a one-stop-shop for tasting Noosa with some of the finest restaurants sitting next to some of Australia’s most innovative and boutique wineries, craft breweries and cider makers.
Not quite a battle of the TV cooking shows but Chef Colin Fassnidge and Matt Preston will both cook on the main stage on Saturday. Sunday sees Matt Wilkinson from the lauded Pope Joan in Melbourne demoing a chicken and miso salad as well as paella by Miguel Maestre.
Artisans, producers and even Australia’s latest international award-winning gin distiller – Brookies Gin will call the Courier Mail Producers Pavilion home over the weekend. Festivalgoers can sample and buy from many local producers including Gympie Gold Regional Produce, Padre Coffee and delicious artisanal chocolate from Kokopod.
The Pavilion will also be the place to see Kirsten Tibballs explain the intricacies of chocolate tempering and chef of the moment Alanna Sapwell demonstrate how to breakdown a kingfish.
Sum Yung Guys, Embassy XO, Village Bicycle, Bombetta and some of the region’s other yummiest spots will feed the hungry hordes.
This year sees the addition of the Asahi Super Dry Craft Beer and Cider Corner for those who like something more than wine. Margaret River’s Xanadu wines; Yarra Valley’s Innocent Bystander and the Barossa’s Turkey Flat and eighteen other premier Australian wineries will make wine lover’s hearts sing.
Not only will the Noosa Food and Wine Festival Village be the place to eat, sip and while away the afternoon it’s also the best spot to people watch while listening to the bands and DJ’s across two stages. Under the Sperry tent, the Pimm’s Garden Party offers something a little different but of course in the inimitable Pimm’s style.
The OpenTable Festival Village VIP Lounge plays host to the guest chefs and key Festival partners. You can exclusively access the lounge with a VIP Pass. Add an all-day grazing table and four complimentary drinks per day and this could be the perfect option for serious Festivalgoers. This could also be known as ‘Selfie Central’.
