If you’re yet to see the somewhat palatial interiors of the new Langham Sydney, here are the first official images.
The Langham Sydney undoubtedly has one of Sydney’s grandest, but not ostentatious lobbies. The dynamic entrance and a Sotheby’s curated $1m art collection on the ground level have created quite a splash. The collection features acclaimed Australian artists Brett Whitely, Sidney Nolan, Andrew Browne and Albert Tucker.
London’s GA Design was engaged to re-design the interiors. They are world-renowned with an award-winning portfolio of some of the world’s most exclusive hotels including the W Taipei, St Regis Osaka and Hilton Istanbul Bomonti. The magnificent interiors are classic but with contemporary touches. Furnishings are finished in elegant, rich fabrics to reinforce the high-end residential feel.
Formerly the Observatory Hotel, Langham Hospitality Group purchased it in 2012 and rebranded it The Langham, Sydney. In what must be a world record, the extensive renovation was completed in just four months.
Kent Street Kitchen is best described as relaxed fine dining with Chef de Cuisine Daniel Rudolph (formerly of est. and Guy Savoy Paris) at the helm. The Chef’s Table is already a much sought after reservation – a three metre white marble table serving just 8.
There are 77 Grand Langham Rooms, 8 Junior Suites, 11 Langham Suites, the 2-bedroom Residence and the opulent 3-bedroom Observatory Suite. All feature high ceilings and views of the Sydney skyline or the western Harbour.
