Palm Cove’s sublime Alamanda

Nestled between Cairns, the capital of Tropical North Queensland and the beachside town of Port Douglas lies the palm-fringed hamlet of Palm Cove. There at the southern end of the esplanade lies the only absolute beachfront resort in town, Alamanda.

Formerly known as Angsana and now under the Lancemore banner, Alamanda has just received a considered nip and tuck, consolidating its position as one of Australia’s best tropical getaways.

Alamanda offers the perfect escape with luxurious and spacious one, two or three bedroom fully self-contained apartments that make it as easy as just closing your front door to stroll along one of Australia’s most idyllic stretches of sand.

All suites feature fully appointed Miele kitchens and comfortable beach chic furnishings and private balconies to take in the cool ocean breezes. The suites are all designed to make your stay stress free with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms offer Australia’s very best amenities – Appelles Apothecary that incorporate authentic Australian ingredients like Kakadu Plum , Lemon Myrtle and Blue Mallee Eucalyptus. There are three swimming pools or you can opt to bask on the sun loungers under the palms beach side.

And if it’s a destination wedding you have in mind, Alamanda has that sorted too. The non-denominational and minimalist private chapel uses the Coral Sea as the perfect backdrop for the ‘I do’s’.

Palm Cove is a resort town – the only reason you would want to leave is to stock up on groceries. But, you can also easily eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the many top-notch restaurants and cafes that dot the main street. Or if you stay at Alamanda you don’t even have to leave the resort: Nu Nu, Palm Cove’s best restaurant is situated in Alamanda and never disappoints.

Nu Nu

Nu Nu is perhaps Australia’s least pretentious fine diner. The very best produce is presented in a thoughtful menu with wide appeal in informal surroundings. Every detail has been considered to ensure the very best (and relaxed) dining experience at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Read more about NuNu here: http://thismagnificentlife.com/the-all-new-nu-nu/

And to continue the nurturing of your body and soul, the Alamanda Spa offers the ultimate in rejuvenating massages, indulgent facials, revitalising body polishes and body wraps as well as beauty treatments. From the moment I arrived and sipped my iced hibiscus tea I was enveloped in serenity. Then Aui delivered a much-needed life-changing restorative Javanese massage in one of the rooftop spa pavilions that offer complete privacy and breath-taking views of the ocean. You should make sure to make the bliss last a little longer and take a dip in your own infinity plunge pool.

Alamanda Spa

Alamanda is a complete sanctuary offering the complete getaway you often only get on island resorts. Absolute care is taken to ensure everything is just what you need. Alamanda is a haven for the tired, the overworked in the jewel of the tropics, Palm Cove.
